    Lecture Two on Introduction of Teachers' Research Direction in Materials Science and Engineering

        On the afternoon of March 29, the second lecture on research directions of materials science and engineering was held in classroom t5404. The lecture was presided over by Mr. Wang Wei. Three teachers, Wang Wei, Zhang Qian and Huang Yan, were the lecturers. They introduced their main research directions to the students from the directions of biomaterials, energy materials and electronic information materials. Shi bingruo, the instructor, and all the undergraduate students of grade 2016 attended the lecture.


        At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Wang Wei introduced his research on micro nano robot related fields. He pointed out that micro nano robot is a new type of nano intelligent bionic material, which covers the functions of oil pollution control, environmental detection and drug delivery. It is closely related to scientific phenomena in nature. Students are required to have divergent thinking, be good at discovering and use them. At present, Prof. Wang Wei's research group mainly studies basic scientific issues related to micro and nano machines, including material preparation and characterization, nano machine driving, mechanism understanding and simulation theory, biomedical application detection, etc., and has a wide range of applications. He also hopes that students interested in this field can join the research group to study together.


        After that, Prof.Zhang Qian introduced the development process of thermoelectric, the application of materials and the excellent research results in the group. Thermoelectric material is one of the important new energy sources in the future. It has the advantages of no pollution, no noise, easy control and strong reliability. Although the efficiency is low, it is still a powerful solution to the problem of energy shortage. At the same time, teacher Zhang Qian also pointed out that under the background of global big data, the research on material genes and big data has far-reaching guiding significance for the design of thermoelectric and other materials. The establishment of the Institute of material genes and big data not only conforms to the trend of global big data, but also provides new ideas for the relevant research methods in the field of materials.


        Finally, Prof. Huang Yan introduced the research of flexible battery to the students. She said that energy is closely related to the survival and development of human beings. Nowadays, it is more and more important to find new energy and reliable energy storage and conversion equipment. Secondary battery is now a successful attempt and application of energy storage technology. In this context, as an essential energy material for the development of wearable electronic devices in the future, how to develop industrialized production and popularize it in people's daily life, Flexible battery in life is of great significance. At present, the research contents of Huang Yan's research group include the design of battery material structure, detection of the tensile and compressive strength of battery.


        At the end, the teachers answered the questions of the students, and the atmosphere was harmonious. In the warm applause of the students, the lecture ended successfully.
